“The open house will feature quite a few of our instructors who will be providing demonstrations in a variety of art media including watercolor painting, oil painting, drawing, metal smithing and sculpting. We’ll have hands-on crafts and cooking projects for kids, as well as a caricature artist,” said Brenda Jaros, education director at Sweetwater.

Sweetwater’s ceramics instructors will be on hand to help out and demonstrate how to create pieces on the potters’ wheel,  Jaros said.

Music instructors and their students will entertain visitors, and the belly dancing instructor will perform.

“It’s a great opportunity to visit us and learn about all the different things your local art center has to offer,” Jaros said.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

“The student/instructor exhibition and corresponding open house are my personal favorite events that we do at Sweetwater.

"The student/instructor show is a true representation of who we are and what we do as it features the artwork made in classes and outreach programs. It’s very inspiring to see the creativity that flows through Sweetwater,” Jaros said.
