Relay for Life: It's Time to Get 'Cooking for a Cure'

Reservations are being taken for the healthy cooking event on April 21.

Quaker Valley Relay for Life is teaming up with the to help raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer. 

Join head Chef Martin Thomas and get "Cooking for a Cure" from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 21 as part of the fundraising activities leading up to the eighth annual relay to be held June 23-24 at the  stadium.

Guests will be treated to a Mediterranean-style dinner and will have the chance to learn healthy cooking techniques from Chef Martin while supporting the local charity.

Reservations are now being taken and seating is limited for the event. Cost is $75 plus a cash bar.

A vegetable hummus display of black bean smoked chile hummus, roasted beet hummus, sweet pea and dill hummus, traditional chick pea hummus, assorted flat breads and crisp spring vegetables; also Spanish-style meatballs with almond saffron sauce and spanakopita.

First: Fattoush, Mediterranean bread salad and sumac vinaigrette.

Entree: Sea salt marinated roasted chicken with lemon and herbs, Farro and Golden Lentil Pilaf, roasted spring asparagus.

Dessert: Organic buttermilk panna cotta.
