Union Aid Society’s Holiday Gift Program Helps Local Families

The Sewickley-based non-profit's holiday program is now underway.

 

The Union Aid Society expects the need this holiday season to be greater than ever due to the current financial crisis and downturn in the economy.

"The organization is counting on the continued generosity of the community to help all of our neighbors this holiday season," Sherri Leifman, executive director, said.

The community can support the program by donating gift cards so that local families have the opportunity to shop for their children for the holidays.

Holiday trees are placed throughout the community and are decorated with individual ornaments requesting gift card donations for local children.

In Sewickley, trees are located at , , , , and . A tree is also located at in Leetsdale.

Donors can remove a tag and send their donation by Dec. 9 to the office at 601 Thorn St., Sewickley, PA 15143.

If you are a resident of the and are in need of assistance, please call the Union Aid Society office at 412-741-9240. You, or someone you know, may qualify to participate in the holiday program.
