5 Things to Know this Week: Winning Losers, Tim Federle and Annual Turkey Dinner

1. Winning Losers 101

Are you looking to lose weight or want to learn more about healthy living? Winning Losers 101 is a free community weight loss support and discussion group for men and women. Come and devote an hour to your health. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the community room at the Leetsdale Borough Building. 

2. Author Visit with Tim Federle

Meet the author of Better Nate Than Ever and hear him tell tales. Federle, a Pittsburgh native, will be at the Penguin Bookshop from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

3. 65th Annual Turkey Dinner

Sewickley United Methodist Church will serve their 65th Annual Turkey Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 7. Tickets for the dining room seatings at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. are $15 for adults and $6 for children ages 4 to 10. Children 3 and under are free. All tickets for take-out from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. are $15.

4. MELT Method Intro Workshop

Sewickley En Pointe will hold an introductory MELT class at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7. The cost is $35 unless you preregister then the cost is $25. Class size is limited so call 412-741-6235 or email tonya@sewickleyenpointe.com to register. 

5. Ambridge Wine & Chocolate Experience

On Saturday Feb. 9, shoppers can enjoy different wines and sample chocolate treats when 20 Ambridge merchants host a wine and chocolate experience.

The more places you visit from 2 to 5 p.m., the more chances to win prizes later at a social event beginning at 5 p.m. at Old Economy Village.  Advance tickets are on sale at Old Ecnomy Village, Akulina’s Antiques, Dunn’s Insurance Agency and the Ambridge Chamber of Commerce office. Cost is $15 per individual or $25 per couple. Tickets will also be sold on the day of the event.
