Ambridge Area Chamber Director Resigns Post

Jeremy Angus plans to pursue new opportunities, but will assist in the search for a new administrator.

The executive director of the Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce has announced plans to resign from the organization.

said he is stepping down to pursue other opportunities after serving as director for about four years. In addition to Ambridge, the chamber serves Leetsdale, Bell Acres, Economy, Leet Township, Baden and Harmony.

“These four years have been amazing and have allowed me to take an organization, which was at rock bottom, to become a thriving organization within this community," he said, adding that progress wouldn't have happened without business and member community support.

Angus most recently ran for the , but was defeated in the primary by . He also serves on the Ambridge Area School Board and is marketing chairman of the board of directors.

Angus said he will be pursuing other opportunities, but hesitated to talk about the specifics just yet. He said an announcement will be made in the near future.

The chamber is now searching for a new executive director and Angus said he plans to help with hiring process. Responsibilities have included organizing the annual festival, car cruises, concerts in the park and other events.

Angus said the position needs a business minded person who is energetic and not afraid to take risks.

“This new director will shape, develop and implement the new chapter of this great organization. I want to find someone who sees the growth potential of not only the chamber, but also the community at large,” Angus said.
