Celebrities to Appear at Grand Opening for Giant Eagle in Leetsdale

The festivities will include celebrity appearances starting on Saturday with Doug Davidson, who plays private investigator Paul Williams on the CBS soap opera "The Young and the Restless."

Giant Eagle plans a grand re-opening with guest appearances from Pittsburgh sports figures and a daytime television celebrity.

Throughout January and February, the celebration of the recently completed renovations at the store in the Quaker Village Shopping Center will spotlight newly remodeled departments and expanded services.

Festivities will include family entertainment, face painters, stilt walkers, jugglers, clowns and magicians. Fans can also meet a few of their favorite stars.

will play host to these celebrities:

  • Doug Davidson, who plays private investigator Paul Williams on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.
  • Deryk Engelland, Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman, from 5-6 p.m. Feb. 10.
  • Bryan Trottier, former Pittsburgh Penguins centerman and seven-time Stanley Cup winner, from noon-1:30 p.m. Feb. 18.

The supermarket has undergone a massive makeover, now serving as a multi-format food and fuel retailer.

One of the newest features includes a large selection of domestic and imported beers available for take home or in-store consumption with a meal in the new cafe.

Other features include an prepared foods department; a new health and wellness department; an expanded pharmacy with a drive-through window; and updated bakery, seafood, deli and cheese departments.
