Did 'American Idol' Contestant Deandre Brackensick Make Top 10?

Deandre Brackensick singing “Endless Love” on American Idol, but apparently the risk was worth it.

The 17-year-old with ties was ushered into the competition’s Top 10 contenders Thursday night and in the show’s summer concert tour. If he hadn’t made it, Brackensick told the Fox show's interviewers he would probably have cried on camera but would “keep trying somehow, someway.”

The San Jose, CA, native is the of Sewickley author and historian Bettie Cole and Earl Cole of Ambridge.

Brackensick received some criticism from the judges Wednesday night for choosing “Endless Love,” a song released in 1994—the year he was born. Mentor Jimmy Iovine said Brackensick did a good job at rehearsal but on the show.

Fans apparently disagreed and voted Bracksensick safely into the show's Top 10. The competition will pick up again at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
