Help Fun Buy the Pound Win a $250,000 Small Business Grant

The local toy store had 33 votes as of Monday night in the "Mission: Small Business" program, which is awarding up to 12 individual $250,000 grants to small businesses.

The Sewickley toy store has applied for a small business grant through the "Mission: Small Business" program, sponsored by Chase and LivingSocial. The program will award up to 12 individual $250,000 grants to small businesses in the nation.

One of the requirements to be considered for the grant is to get at least 250 consumer votes on the program's website. Fun Buy the Pound had 33 votes as of Monday night, and owner Brenda Fisk is hoping for more.

"If we won this grant, it would enable us to hire more people, add new services and be even more fun," Fisk said in the store's newsletter.

Voting ends on June 30, so be sure to cast yours today on the "Mission: Small Business" website. After the voting period ends, a panel of judges will review the applications and determine the recipients.
