Longtime Sewickley Barber, Luggage Repairman Announces Retirement

When and why Ross Kistler is planning to retire, and what will happen to his barber shop on Broad Street.

Ross Kistler, of Kistler's Barber Shop on Broad Street in Sewickley, tells Patch that he plans to retire at the end of August.

When the well-known, local barber sells his Emsworth home, Kistler will be moving back to South Bend, IN. And he tells Patch that his Air Force photos, University of Florida memorabilia and the cannonball found in his grandfather's estate—a popular "toy" for visiting children—will be leaving with him.

And so will his popular luggage repair business.

The barber shop will remain open under new ownership.
