Pop Up Retail Store Opens in Sewickley

Friends Liza Christ and Bridget Snyder recently opened a "pop-up store" in Sewickley that will continue operating through June 16.

The store at 430 Beaver St. features Emy Mack, a Pittsburgh-based luxury women’s shoe designer.

Alongside Emy Mack’s collections is a showcase of hand-crafted stationery from Bridget Rose Fine Stationery.

Customers who visit the store will have access to Emy Mack’s spring and summer 2013 collection, and her more contemporary brand, Cavallini.

“When you buy an Emy Mack shoe, you’re getting the quality of a luxury designer shoe, but a more exclusive piece that no one else will likely have seen,” said Christ, brand consultant.

She said Mack teamed up with design and marketing experts in the luxury footwear industry to ensure that the quality of her pieces would measure up to legends such as Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik.

The designer’s shoes are all handmade in Italy in the same manufacturing facility that makes Jimmy Choo shoes and are made in limited quantities, she said.

“Also, unlike other designer shoe brands, we can customize shoes with unique adornments, so that it is really a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes,”  Christ said.

The designer’s collections are also available at the Emy Mack showroom in Shadyside or at www.emymack.com

For customers seeking another kind of custom work, there is Bridget Rose Fine Stationery. In addition to off-the-rack stationery, artist Bridget Snyder offers semi-custom and custom work that allows customers to choose their own images, which she draws and makes prints of.

“Working with customers on custom pieces is so much fun because the sky is the limit,” Snyder said.  “I love meeting such creative, passionate people and making their ideas come to life.”

Customers wanting to purchase custom stationery are welcome to set up an appointment in advance by emailing bridgetrosefinestationery@gmail.com.

The pop-up store is also hosting trunk shows by Shadyside retailers the Picket Fence and Glassworks & Cheeks, which offer clothes, gifts and home wares.
