Powerball Jackpot Reaches $550 Million

Get your tickets to cash in on the largest Powerball jackpot in history.

UPDATE: The Powerball Wednesday was boosted to $550 million, the largest jackpot in its history.  

If you can manage to get to local stores to buy a Powerball ticket by 9:59 p.m. Wednesday, you could be millions of dollars richer.

The estimated Powerball jackpot was boosted to $500 million today, after previously sitting at $425 million, according to the Powerball website.

Lottery officials have described this as the largest jackpot in its history with an estimated cash payout of $327.4 million. The previous top windfall of $365 million was claimed by eight co-workers in Lincoln, NE, in 2006.

Powerball numbers on Saturday claimed more than 2 million winners on the Nov. 24 drawing, but no jackpot winners were among the 42 participating states.
