Sewickley Valley Chamber of Commerce to Host Marketing Seminar

Local marketing expert will offer practical advice for organizations with limited time and budgets.

As part of its ongoing commitment to professional development for business owners in the region, the Sewickley Valley Chamber of Commerce will host its final speaker series session this week.

“Practical Marketing for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses” will be led by Karen Poirier on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Poirier, an award-winning marketing expert, will share some of the most effective ways that businesses can drive revenue and build customer loyalty, while showing attendees how to navigate today’s overwhelming array of marketing channels to find the ones that are the best fit for their businesses.

“Earlier this fall, our speakers focused on getting businesses motivated and oriented to the broader trends that are impacting their businesses. In this session we get down to practical advice that each business owner can take and use right away to improve their marketing efforts,” Cora DeLoia, president of the chamber, said in a news release.

Poirier's company, KeboWorks, LLC, helps businesses and organizations address marketing challenges by choosing and using the marketing techniques that are most effective for their individual goals, brands and budgets.

“In this session we will cut through the confusion and show business owners how to choose the marketing strategies that will return better results, so they can use their time and budgets more efficiently,” Poirier said.

Attendees will also learn how to get more out of any marketing campaign; how to use social media (and if they should); and how to effectively differentiate in a competitive marketplace.

The session is a $20 donation for the general public and $10 for members of Village Green Partners, and will be held at the Penguin Bookshop, 420 Beaver St., Sewickley, 412-741-3838. Tickets are available for purchase online at ShowClix.com.

Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. with the presentation starting at 9 a.m. A complimentary breakfast of coffee, bagels, croissants and fresh fruit, donated by Brueggers Bagels, Café des Ami and Safrans Supermarket will be available for all attendees.
