Between cooking the turkey, making the sweet potatoes and baking the pumpkin , finding the right wine to complement the meal can feel like an undertaking all its own.

Elizabeth Hosni of Naked Grape Enoteca recommends a Pinot Noir.

"It pairs well with a variety of foods and appeals to a variety of palates," Hosni said.

That makes it great for Thanksgiving, when the meal includes not only turkey, but all the side dishes and fixings.

For those who prefer a white, Hosni said the best choice would be an off-dry Riesling.

"It also pairs well with Thanksgiving dinner and people who tend to drink red wines seem to enjoy an off-dry Riesling as well," she said.
