Unique Boutique: Ann Radcliff Designs, Global Girls, Warm Wears & Elegant Edibles

In anticipation of today's 12th annual Unique Boutique, Patch is featuring some of the businesses you'll see at the event.

Fifty vendors are slated to attend today's 12th annual Unique Boutique at the Edgeworth Club. Each vendor has a unique business story in how they began.

Today, we feature five of those vendors, including a hometown seller.

The Unique Boutique is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Edgeworth Club, 511 East Drive.  Admission for shopping is $10.

Kelly Sobczak of Global Girls will again bring her collection of jewelry, handbags, shawls, scarves, and journals and albums. Sobczak searches the markets and villages of Asia for unique fashion accessories and gifts. In her travels of Vietnam, Kashmir, India, Burma and Thailand, Sobczak has become friends with many artisans and brings back numerous hand crafted items.  Her jewelry includes tribal pieces from Afghanistan, handmade mirror bracelets and silver stone pieces from Bangkok.  Her wool scarves and shawls are hand embodied by artisans from the mountains of Kashmir such as Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Mir. Articles of her travel can be found in the Pittsburgh Magazine, the Post Gazette and The Best of Women’s Travel Writing in Traveler’s Tales, Palo Alto, California.

Warm Wears - Carolyn Pearsall has been an avid knitter for more than 25 years.  When her children were young, she made them numerous pullover sweaters, cardigans, vests, and coat sweaters, which were subsequently passed on to friends and then to more friends — some of Pearsall's early sweaters knew as many as seven and eight owners.

Since Pearsall founded "Warm Wears" in 1988, the things that please her most are the positive feedback from her customers and the increase in repeat business each year. "Warm Wears" include a variety of original, hand-crafted knitted apparel, infant through size 8. Currently, Pearsall's work is being worn by children on four continents. Items are available from a sizable inventory or by special order.

Evelyn Elegant Edibles - Evelyn Elegant Edibles of Canonsburg will be selling her gourmet food of spice and rice mixes. She will also be providing many delicious hot and cold samples to taste.  Her products include Athenian Rice Mix, Burgundy Wine Meatball Mix, Popie’s Pine Nut Basil Rice Mix, New York Style Chili Dog Sauce Mix, Terrific Tuscan Spice Mix for Potatoes, Chicken or Dipping, Harvest Honey Glaze Mix for Sweet Potatoes, Carrots and Yams, and Magnificent Mona Lisa Spice Mix for Chicken, Pork, Potatoes or Dip.  This year, spice and rice gift baskets will be available, great gifts for entertaining chefs.

Pearl Peddler - The Pearl Peddler is always one of the most popular vendors. Beverly Wolbert warmly greets her customers and helps them select their special gift. Wolbert will be displaying her wide array of culture pearls and semi precious jewelry, ladies accessories, hand bags, silk shawls, hair accessories and Asian inspired handicrafts.
