Batman Film Traffic Alert

Several roads will be closed to traffic starting tonight.

If you're planning on traveling through Gotham City (a.k.a downtown Pittsburgh) anytime soon, you may have to find a different route.

The Pittsburgh Film Office says the following roads will be closed tonight through Thursday due to the filming:

  • The north side curb lane of Fifth Avenue from Smithfield Street to Liberty Avenue will be closed from 6 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. on Thursday.
  • The west side curb lane of Wood Street from Liberty Avenue to Fifth Avenue will be closed from 6 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. on Thursday.
  • The south side curb lane of Sixth Avenue from Wood Street to Smithfield Street will be closed from 6 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. on Thursday.
  • Oliver Avenue from Wood Street to Grant Street will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. Thursday.
  • Smithfield Street from Fifth Avenue to Sixth Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. Thursday.
  • The Oliver Avenue garage will be closed all day on Wednesday.  Customers of this parking facility can park at the Mellon Square Garage.

There will be intermittent traffic control on Grant Street, William Penn Place and Wood Street.

Sidewalks will have limited access during filming.

Once filming has stopped public assistants will help you through the closures to get you to open stores, restaurants and office buildings.

Pedestrians may experience short delays during filming.

Production vehicles will be parked on Fifth Avenue, Wood Street and Sixth Avenue.  All of these streets and sidewalks will be open.
