Bites Nearby: Bocktown Serves Up Brews and Burgers

Patch takes a trip to the "beer library" at Bocktown Beer and Grill in Robinson Township.

Bocktown Beer and Grill is a fun, upbeat restaurant in the Pool City Plaza in Robinson.

Its slogan is “the place to beer,” and it’s the place to be if you're looking to dine out near Sewickley. Not only does the restaurant boast tasty, homemade food. It also offers some of the best beers around, making it a great place to get together with friends and family.

Locally owned and operated, the bar has 16 rotating American craft beers on tap and a beer library that contains more than 400 varieties of bottled beer. If you go to the restaurant about 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, you’ll be able to sample a few beers from a local brewing company.

Black-and-gold sports fans will never have to miss a game at Bocktown -- there are televisions throughout the restaurant. The menu is written in Pittsburghese, featuring items such as Snacks N’At, Sandwich Stacks, ’Burghers, Dahn the Hatch and Soups-N-Such.

Appetizers such as buffalo chicken dip, beer cheese and pretzels and stuffed banana peppers are priced from $5.99 to $14.99. Sandwiches are $5.99 to $11.99. Popular sandwiches include the Grilled Reuben, the Growler and the Pulled Pork BBQ Stack. Other popular menu choices include the Bocktown Burgher, the Three Rivers Burgher, the grilled chicken salad and the Ah…Ahi! For dessert, the restaurant offers freshly delivered sweets from Signature Dessert Company.

The atmosphere is loud and friendly. The eatery is small, so go early or be prepared to wait for a table.

 

Bocktown offers daily specials and serves food from 11 a.m. to midnight Sundays through Thursdays and until 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The bar stays open one hour after the kitchen closes.
