Bites Nearby: The Sharp Edge

Take the "edge" off your week with a bite and craft beer at The Sharp Edge.

The provides a unique dining experience right across the bridge. Located in the heart of Sewickley on Beaver Street, the charming eatery serves up good food in good company.

 A decent sized bar welcomes patrons at the entrance of the door. If you’re looking to have a few drinks or even a bite to eat, the bar offers plenty of seating. Around the bar area are high-top tables for two. A long hallway to the left of the bar leads to the dining room seating in the back. There are numerous booths that line the walls, and tables with chairs fill in the rest of the floor.

The Bistro serves upscale pub food, and the ample menu has a little bit of everything for everyone.

Appetizers, such as Mediterranean Nachos and Brie en Croute, range in price from $9 to $11. One of the menu’s most popular items is the buffalo bites, which are the Bistro’s version of boneless wings, with the choice of over a half dozen sauces. Six bites are $6 and 12 bites are priced at $10.

Other popular items on the menu include the burgers, which range in price from $10.50 to $15.00. Belgian, buffalo, chicken, duck, ostrich and salmon burgers are all offered.

Soups, salads, Paninis and pizza are also on the menu.

And save room for dessert, the Liege Sugar Waffles are delicious, topped with either raspberry or chocolate sauce for $3.

Although the food is good, the Bistro holds up the Sharp Edge reputation when it comes to beer. Known for its selection of Belgian and craft beers, the drinks take precedent.

There is something about the atmosphere of the Sharp Edge Bistro that will pull you back for more. It’s relaxed yet upbeat, and the place gives off a great energy. It’s a comfortable place to go to hang out with friends and watch a Buccos game or play some trivia on Tuesday nights.

The Sharp Edge offers daily specials and is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until midnight, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m. (the kitchen closes at midnight) and Sunday from noon until 10 p.m.
