Daylight Saving Time: Turn Your Clocks Forward

Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, which means standard time will move forward an hour and you'll lose 60 minutes of sleep.

Clocks "spring forward" an hour every year in the spring and "fall back" during autumn. The next time you're forced to adjust your watch, microwave, and car clock won't come until Nov. 6, the first Sunday in the month.

are also asking residents to use daylight saving time as a reminder to replace the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors throughout homes, and to test detectors to make sure they are functioning properly.
