It’s Friday, and you have no plans for the weekend except for watching the Super Bowl on Sunday. Well, take a look at our five ideas and enjoy some fun ahead of the big game.
Fifth Annual Pasta Dinner

When/Where: 5 p.m-9 p.m. Friday at St. Stephen's Church, 405 Frederick Ave., Sewickley.
Why Go: Take a night off from cooking and bring the family to support the Quaker Valley Band. Marching and concert band members will perform in various ensembles throughout the evening. Dinner includes pasta, meatballs, bread, salad, beverages and dessert. All proceeds support the QVHS Band.

Admission: $8 for adults, $6 for students and $5 for senior citizens in advance. Tickets are $1 extra at the door. Free for children 4 and under. Call 412-741-7708 for tickets.
Sweet Jazz with Chico's Quintet +1.
When/Where: 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Sweetwater Center for the Arts, 200 Broad St., Sewickley.
Why Go: What better way to spend your Friday nights in February than enjoying sweet jazz music with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres.
Admission: Members $10 advance/$15 day of the event. Non-members $15 advance/$20 day of event. Purchase tickets in advance by calling 412-741-4405 or by visiting the Sweetwater office at 200 Broad St.
February Pancake Breakfast
When/Where: 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Matthews AME Church in Sewickley.
Why Go: St. Matthew's pancake breakfast runs every Saturday morning in February. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice. Come fellowship and eat.
Admission: Freewill offering.
Sewickley Series: Cinema Jenin
When/Where: 2 p.m. Saturday, in Rea Auditorium at Sewickley Academy.
Why Go: Cinema Jenin follows an ambitious initiative to re-open a previously abandoned cinema in the West Bank city of Jenin. Founded in the 1960s, it was once the largest cinema in the Palestinian territories. Followed by a discussion. Parental discretion advised.
Admission: Free and open to the public. Register at www.sewickley.org/sewickleyseries.
Dinner and a Movie
When/Where: 5 p.m. Saturday at Rooks East Side Saloon, 282 Fourth St., Ambridge.
Why Go: Join Rooks for dinner at 5 p.m. before heading to the Ambridge Theater at 7 p.m. to see the locally-filmed "Jack Reacher" movie starring Tom Cruise.
