Pick and choose from this week's array of events for the whole family.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children. You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go.

Seussical the Musical

When/Where: Thursday, March 24 through April 3 at the Benedum Center. 

Why Go? It’s a musical for all ages based on the Dr. Seuss classic character Horton. The event is in association with the Robert Morris Colonial’s Theater.

Pricing: Tickets start at $12.25. 

 

Sweetwater Center for the Arts Open House

When/Where: 6 p.m. Friday, March 25 at the Sweetwater Center for the Arts in Sewickley. 

Why Go? The center will open its doors to the public. Activities will be provided for adults and children of all ages. 

Pricing: Free.

 

3. Slumber Safari

Where/When: Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26 at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.

Why Go? Children can go on an overnight African safari slumber party while learning about the people and different areas of the continent.

Pittsburgh Farm to Table Conference

When/Where: 10:30 a.m. March 26 and 27 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh.

Why Go?  The conference will teach participants about healthy eating and locally grown food.  

Pricing: One-day passes are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Two-day passes are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

 

Annual Interfaith Gathering

When/Where: 3 p.m. March 27 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pittsburgh. 

Why Go? The interfaith event is sponsored by the North Hills Anti-Racism Coalition and will feature a family social with ethnic food.
