Maple Syrup Flows at Fern Hollow Nature Center

Annual Pancake Breakfast & Maple Sugaring Festival provides opportunity to learn about sugaring process.

Despite the steady downpour of rain Saturday, crowds of people came out for the sixth annual "Pancake Breakfast and Maple Sugaring Celebration" at Nature Center in .

Many children’s activities were moved inside for the event, but festivalgoers were able to walk to the trees tapped for the maple sugaring and learn about the process.

“Luckily, this past week the weather was cooperative and we were able to take second-graders from local schools down to the trees to see how the process worked, but I’m excited by the turn out today too,” said April Clause, nature center naturalist.

The Beaver County Conservation District and Bradys Run Park provided the nature center with sugar buckets, pancake dispensers and griddles for the festival.
