Winter Outlook: More Snow Showers Expected in Sewickley

The National Weather Service is calling for more snow accumulation and lingering cold temperatures.

More snow is expected Saturday in the Sewickley Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Moon Township.

Forecasters are calling for a 50 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 2 p.m. today with less than an inch of possible accumulation. The expected high temperature is 26 degrees.

The cold weather is also expected to stick around through the weekend, with high temperatures of around 32 degrees. By Monday, a high of 39 is expected.

Here's the weekend forecast:

  • Saturday: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 26. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Saturday Night: Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 6. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm after midnight.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 32. Light and variable wind.
  • Sunday Night: A chance of snow and freezing rain before 4 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a 10th of an inch possible.
