Not Again! Another Winter Storm Watch in Effect

Get your bread and milk now. Another winter storm is on the way.

This afternoon the National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch.

It said lingering pockets of freezing rain will end as temperatures climb above freezing this evening. The rain will change to snow tonight, the weather service said.

Heavy snow -- six inches or more -- is expected between this evening and Friday evening, according to the announcement.

The Friday morning commute is expected to be difficult and power outages are possible, the weather service said.

A winter storm watch means there is the potential for snow accumulation of more than six inches.

Meanwhile, a flood advisory continues for the Ohio River until Monday morning and the Mon Wharf is expected to remained flooded through the weekend. 

The Ohio River at Point State Park is expected to rise above 22 feet Thursday afternoon, flooding the 10th Street Bypass, the weather service said.

The flood stage for the river is 25 feet and the National Weather Service is predicting it will rise to near 26.8 feet Friday evening. As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, the stage was 19.5 feet, the weather service said.
