Port Authority Adjourns Meeting to Allow Union Vote

The drivers union submitted the proposal to the board this morning.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County board at midday adjourned a rowdy, crowded meeting in order to permit its drivers union to vote on a last-minute concession proposal aimed at staving off route cuts and layoffs.

The drivers union submitted the proposal to the board this morning in an effort to postpone the cuts scheduled to take effect Sunday.

The board plans to reconvene at 3 p.m. tomorrow.  See Patch for updates.
