Tickets Available for Popular Candidates' Comedy Night Fundraiser

Local, state general election candidates to seek laughs at benefit for children and youth.

Tickets are on sale for the Candidates’ Comedy Night 2011 fundraiser Aug. 18 at the Pittsburgh Improv at the Waterfront in Homestead.

The fundraiser, which benefits children and youth in Allegheny County, is a forum for candidates running for political office in the November general election to reveal their hidden talents and showcase their humor. Those performing include candidates for , , and; and .

Tickets for sections of eight seats are available at these levels: gold section, $750 donation, and silver section, $500 donation. The platinum section is sold out.

Call the Department of Human Services event line at 412-350-3428 for tickets.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the comedy show will begin at 7:30 p.m.

All proceeds will benefit children and youth that the department and the Juvenile Section of the Family Division of the Court of Common Pleas serves, providing life-enriching opportunities not otherwise available through traditional government funding.
