UPDATE: Magee Road Reopens

A section of road between Blackburn Road and Kevin Drive had been closed since Tuesday due to a landslide.

Allegheny County Public Works today announced that Magee Road in Sewickley Hills has reopened to traffic following repairs to the area damaged by a landslide earlier this week.

 Officials previously told Patch that a section of Magee Road could be closed indefinitely as crews waited for materials.

Allegheny County Department of Public Works crews closed a section of the road by 8 p.m. Tuesday night after a  occurred about 250 feet north of Blackburn Road.

Steve Smallhoover, project manager,  said crews would do a "Band-Aid" fix but were waiting for asphalt plants to open for the season. Once the weather cooperates, he said, the crews would be able to make patch repairs.

Magee Road dropped about 6  inches at the center line in the roadway.
