Valley Ambulance, Area Emergency Personnel to Host Safety Day

The ambulance authority will open its doors to the public on Saturday.

The public can tour University Boulevard facility this weekend and learn more about area public safety services. 

The event, held in honor of National Emergency Medical Services Week, will include emergency service departments from Moon, Crescent, and Robinson. 

Residents can meet local EMTs and paramedics from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the authority's 3500 University Boulevard facility. The event is free to attend.

Events scheduled for the day include:

  • 11 a.m.: A Life Flight medical helicopter will land and tours of the copter will be provided. 
  • 1 a.m.: A Stat Medivac helicopter will land and tours will be provided. 

Throughout the day: 

  • Tours of the Valley Ambulance Building
  • Blood pressure and pulse checks will be administered by Valley Ambulance personnel
  • and  fire departments will display trucks
  • will host a presentation on their Canine Unit
  • Moon Police will hold a D.A.R.E. program presentation
  • will display its water rescue
  • Hotdogs and drinks will be available throughout the day
  • The Allegheny County bomb squad will be on hand for a demonstration
