UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning; More Snow Predicted for Sewickley Area

The snow is expected start Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire Pittsburgh region, including the Sewickley area, beginning 11 p.m. Sunday through 11 a.m. Monday.

Forecasters say the snow will be most intense from midnight Sunday through the pre-dawn hours of Monday, accumulating 4-7 inches before ending by Monday afternoon.

A Winter Storm Warning means that heavy snow will make tavel dangerous. If you must venture out at all, use extreme caution.

Here's a more detailed look at the forecast:

  • Sunday Night: Snow, mainly after 11 p.m. The snow could be heavy at times.  Low around 29. East wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100-perecent. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
  • Monday: Snow showers. High near 35. East wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100-percent.
  • Monday Night: Snow showers likely, mainly before 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 27. North wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70-percent.
