Utilizing his farm-to-table cuisine, Chef Martin, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, will be sharing his knowledge and as well as a few tricks of the trade for this event. Join us on April 21, 2012 where he will demonstrate and prepare a Mediterranean-style dinner guaranteed to please all palates. The first annual Cooking for a Cure to benefit the American Cancer Society will be held in the Semple Ballroom from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The cost is $75/person ($40 is tax deductible) and will include appetizers, dinner and dessert. A cash bar will be offered in the McCormick Lounge.

Another highlight of the evening will be a talk from Mary Robb Jackson of KDKA. She will share her personal thoughts on being a cancer survivor.

Twenty one grants were given in our “backyard” to the University of Pittsburgh (16 grants totaling $9.8 million),Pennsylvania State University (4 grants totaling $3 million) and Carnegie Mellon University (1 grant for $720,000).
