A Fairy-Tale World: Edgeworth Garden Club Crafts Fairy Houses

The craft session took place recently at the Sewickley Public Library.

The Edgeworth Garden Club recently held an arts and crafts session at the Sewickley Public Library to make naturalized fairy houses.

Members crafted the houses in preparation for the "Fairy Houses Fun" event on April 20 at the Mary Roberts Rinehart Nature Park in Glen Osborne.

Natasha Green, a board member of the Osborne Trail and Park Association, said the public will be invited to the event featuring renown author and illustrator Tracy Kane. Kane will read from her “Fairy Houses Series” of books, followed by a lecture offering tips and ideas for building fairy houses.

All ages will then be invited to help build an enchanted “Fairy Houses Village” on the park grounds. Kane will offer two presentations at 11 a.m. and again at 2 p.m.

The public is also invited to bring their own natural materials to customize a whimsical creation.
