Annual Fourth of July Parade 'A Leetsdale Tradition'

The observance honored the memory of Zachary O'Neill, a Leet and Leetsdale police officer, who died unexpectedly on June 23.

Spectators lined the streets in Leetsdale on Thursday to watch the annual Fourth of July parade. (See video).

Leetsdale police cars displayed black wreaths in memory of Zachary O'Neill, who was worked as a part-time officer in the Leet Township and Leetsdale police departments for four months.

O'Neill passed away unexpectedly on June 23 after suffering from pulmonary embolism. He would have celebrated his 21st birthday on Thursday, July 4.

The day's festitvities included live entertainment, food and activities in Henle Park, culminating with Zambelli fireworks.
