Fourth of July Events in the Sewickley Area

Observances are planned in Leetsdale, Edgeworth and Moon.

Leetsdale's annual Fourth of July celebration will begin at 2 p.m. with a parade that starts at Quaker Village Drive and Beaver Street. The parade route goes from Beaver Street to Broad Street and ends at Henle Park.

The Quaker Valley High School and Northgate marching bands are expected to participate along with the University of Pittsburgh drum line, the Ray Ryan Riverside band, a Brazilian marching band, bagpipers and others. 

The parade will also feature classic cars, police and military vehicles and various floats.

The Splash Pad and other activities will be open all day for the children, and the concession stand will be selling drinks and food. Bingo is from 4 to 7 p.m.

Live bands scheduled to play include Modern Insurgency from 3 to 5 p.m. and Eldorado from 6 to 9 p.m.

Patriotic music is from 9:30 to 9:45 p.m. and Zambelli Fireworks Internationale culminate the day's festivities at 9:45 p.m.

Edgeworth

The annual Fourth of July bike parade in Edgeworth will start at Edgeworth Elementary School on Thursday, July 4. Children are invited to participate on decorated bicycles. Gather by 9:45 a.m. at the school. Edgeworth police and Cochran Hose Co. will escort the parade.

Moon Township

Wednesday, July 3--US Army 28th 'Keystone' Division Concert Band at 7 p.m. in Moon Park. With a history of service that predates the American Revolution, the 28th "Keystone" Division Band, based in Hollidaysburg, PA, is among the top performing Army National Guard Bands in the nation today. The 40-member concert band will perform music from contemporary to classical, rousing Sousa Marches and beautiful ballads.

Thursday, July 4--Moon Township's Independence Day Celebration is from 4 to 10 p.m. in Moon Park. Kids' activities start at 4 p.m., live entertainment is at 7 p.m., and fireworks are after 10 p.m. 

Schedule of events is as follows: Kid's activities, Arena's Performing Arts Centre, the Stony River Boys, Sarah Marince, Zambelli Fireworks. Arrive early for the most convenient parking.
