Touch A Truck Collects More Than 100 Toy Trucks for Charity

This was the most the Trucks for Maddox charity has seen to date.

The second annual Touch-A-Truck event set a record on Saturday.

Organizers say they collected a total of 137 toy trucks for the Trucks For Maddox charity, the most the charity has seen to date.

In exchange for admission, visitors were encouraged to bring toy trucks for donation. Trucks For Maddox is in memory of 2-year-old Maddox Derkosh who died at the Pittsburgh Zoo last year.

More than 2,400 people visited the Touch-a-Truck grounds in Leet Township throughout the day on Saturday, making it the most successful year thus far.

"It was a great community event," said Rich Guerrieri, president of the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, which organized the event. "We would like to thank everyone who participated, sponsored  and came to Touch-A-Truck 2013. We are looking forward to next year."
