Claude A. Phipps
Memorial visitation is from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Copeland's Funeral Home in Sewickley.
Claude A. Phipps, age 72, an Avalon resident all his married life, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born in Philadelphia on Jan. 20, 1939 to the late Frederick “Ted” and Gladys (Holt) Phipps. He is survived by his beloved wife for 38 years, Barbara (Cardamone) Phipps, cherished brother-in-law of Russell Cardomone and proud pet father of “rescues” Jack, Belle, Willow and Cocoa.
A florist, he was owner of Phipps 18th Century Flowers.

Claude, like the animal whisperer, shared peanut butter sandwiches with squirrels, enjoyed bird feeding, and opened his home for adoption of cats and dogs from the Humane Society.
