David W. “Bones” Gilbert

Visitation is Sunday and Monday at Copeland's Funeral Home in Sewickley.

David W. “Bones” Gilbert, age 60, of Economy Borough for the past 28 years, formerly of Sewickley, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at his home. He was born in Sewickley on July 26, 1952.

On December 25, 2006, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 27 years, Audrey J. (Barto) Gilbert. Cherished son of Hazel (Johnson) Gilbert of Sewickley and the late John S. Gilbert, Sr.; loving brother of John S. Gilbert, Jr. (Linda) of Sewickley, Rev. Frederick Gilbert of New Castle and Ron Gilbert (Tina) of Monaca; devoted uncle of Keith Gilbert, Jason Gilbert (Allison), Sabrina Baker (Rand), and Steven Gilbert (Kari); great uncle of Michael Gilbert, Rylie and Remington Baker, and Tristan Gilbert; and good friend Connie Short of Coraopolis.

Bones was 1970 graduate of Sewickley High School. He was a local landscaper. You can hear his laughter, see him playing pool, his humor stirring the pot, and his presence at the annual family clay pigeon shoot with his family and friends. We will always hold him in our hearts and minds with a smile.

Visitation Sunday 7-9 and Monday 2-4, 7-9 at , 702 Beaver St. where service will be held on Tuesday 10 AM with his brother presiding, Rev. Fred Gilbert. Burial will follow in .
