Marjorie (Brainerd) Floyd, Former Sewickley Academy Teacher
Memorial Visitation and a Memorial Blessing Service is Friday, July 5.
Marjorie (Brainerd) Floyd, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2013 at Cranberry Place.
She was born in Baltimore, MD on Feb. 16, 1920 to the late Harold A. and Marjorie T. (Thompkins) Brainerd.
Growing up in Sewickley, she was a 1938 graduate of Sewickley High School. Her Bachelors was in Elementary Education from Wheelock College, class of 1942. She taught preschool and kindergarten at Sewickley Academy and the preschool at The Presbyterian Church of Sewickley.
Beloved mother of Ann Pfrogner (James) of Sarasota, FL, Peter Brainerd (Pam) of Brandon, VT and Elizabeth Yankello (John) of Sewickley; cherished grandmother of Lisa Knowles (Barry), James Pfrogner (Maria), Kaitlin, John Michael, and Sara Yankello; loving great grandmother of Kelly & Kristen Knowles and Levi & Anabelle Pfrogner; sister of the late Robert N. Brainerd.
Memorial Visitation Friday from 1 PM until time of Memorial Blessing Service, officiated by Rev. Thomas J. Burke at 2 PM at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St.. Burial will follow in Sewickley Cemetery.
Family suggests donations in her name to Good Samaritan Hospice of Pittsburgh, Inc. 3500 Brooktree Rd., Ste 320, Wexford, PA 15090.
