Mary Meyer McGrath

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at Copeland's Sewickley.

Mary Meyer McGrath, 95, formerly of Sewickley, left this world on June 13, 2012 at the nursing home in the .

Mary was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Paul and Mary Meyer. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Austin E. McGrath of Aleppo Township and her son, Paul A. McGrath of Robinson Township. She was the grandmother to Alyssa Anne, Paul Sean, Casey Austin and Maggie Jeannette McGrath; former mother-in-law to Leslie J. McGrath. She is also survived by her brother Gerard Meyer, many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her siblings: Paul, Leo, Bernard, Fritz (killed in WWII), Robert, and twin sisters Roseanne Rieser and Margaret Duzy. Mary was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother.

She was a great cook and an accomplished seamstress. She loved to play Tripoli and 500 with her friends at the Masonic Village.

Mary was a dedicated volunteer, starting at Sewickley Hospital as a nurse's aide and ending as a receptionist at Masonic Village where she lived. Mary was a member of and a long time member of .

Family and friends will be received at 702 Beaver St. from 2-4 PM, and 7-9 PM on Wednesday (June 20) with prayer on Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass at St. James Church on Thursday at 10 AM. Burial to follow at Christ Our Redeemer (North Side Catholic Cemetery).
