Victor Slancauskas

Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service at 1 p.m. at Copeland's Sewickley, 702 Beaver St.

Victor Slancauskas, age 90, a Robinson Township resident since 2000, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospice House.

He was born in Zanesville, OH on Oct. 23, 1922 to the late William and Emilie (Novinsky) Slancauskas. Victor was a highly decorated U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, participating in 13 of the 15 major battles. He was a member of the VFW Post Leetsdale, the American Legion Post 4 Sewickley, a lifetime member of Disabled American Veteran and former member of AARP.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Helen (Stanchesky) Slancauskas. Loving father and father-in-law to Elaine and Paul Haskins of Robinson and cherished grandfather of Chad Braun; uncle to Rev. Joan and Minister Herbert Baugh of Pittsburgh along with other nieces and nephews and extended family.

Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service at 1 p.m. at Copeland's Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. Full military honors will follow at graveside Sewickley Cemetery.
