Area Police Investigating Rash of Vandalism

Police say someone went on a spree in at least four communities, egging vehicles and shooting out windows.

Local police were dealing with a rash of vandalism in at least four communities after someone went on a spree Sunday night into Monday.

Leetsdale police Sgt. Dan Raible said someone passed through Leetsdale, Leet Township, Sewickley, Edgeworth, and possibly other communities, and bombarded cars with eggs and shot out numerous windows with a BB gun.

“We don’t know if it was juveniles…there’s no rhyme or reason. They just went all over the place. Whatever they thought was targetable. They just did it.”

said there were “a bunch” of incidents, including several cars that were egged. Police began receiving reports Monday morning.

In Leetsdale, Raible said numerous cars were egged and four to five vehicles had windows shot out.

In Sewickley, said several vehicles were egged, including eight vehicles on Thorn Street. Vehicles on Grant Street and Chestnut Street were also targeted. And at one residence, eggs put holes in two window screens on the second and third floors.

Police are looking into some possible video of the actors driving by the police station, Raible said.

Anyone with information or property damage should contact police.
