Charges Reduced Against Couple Accused in Leetsdale Burglaries

Kaitlin Moore and and Andrew Scott received credit for time served.

Charges have been reduced against a Sewickley couple accused of burglarizing two Leetsdale homes last year and stealing more than $4,000 in cash and jewelry.

Leetsdale police withdrew charges against Andrew Scott, 30, and his wife Kaitlin Moore, 28, both of Chestnut Street, of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, receiving stolen property and theft. A charge of criminal trespass was moved to nn-traffic.

Police investigated a burglary July 6 in the 200 block of Beaver Street in Leetsdale where cash and coins totaling $2,500 were taken along with several pieces of jewelry worth $1,500.

Police said the couple also burglarized a second residence on the same day in the 300 block of Beaver Street, where $200 cash cash was taken.

Scott and Moore have paid restitution and received credit for 120 days served, according to court officials.

The following people were also charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings on March 12 in Leetsdale District Court.

Held for Court

  • Kimberly Wiese, 44, of Saxonburg, PA, and John Boring, 28, of Saxonburg, PA, both charged by Franklin Park police with theft and receiving stolen property. Police said Wiese and Boring moved out of their rental home in December on Rochester Road and took three wool carpets, each worth $150 and an antique wood chest belonging to the landlord.
  • Aaron Kane, 24, of Franklin Park, charged by Franklin Park police with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Kane overdosed on heroin on Dec. 27 and was found with a syringe. He was treated at UPMC Passavant hospital.

Waived

  • Kristofer Wigton, 26, of Ambridge, charged by Leetsdale police with possession of heroin, possession with intent to use heroin. Police stopped Wigton April 10 on Route 65 and found drugs and drug paraphernalia during a search, police said.

Reduced

  • Adrian Foody, 20, formerly of Sewickley, charged with criminal trespass and resisting arrest by Sewickley police. Police said Foody had been drinking alcohol before he broke into the Citgo gas station at 4:30 a.m. Nov. 22. Charges withdrawn or reduced.
