Child Luring Attempt Reported in Bell Acres

Bell Acres police are looking for a white male in his mid to late 40s driving a newer model four-door sedan with a rusted dent on the front passenger side.

are looking for a man who attempted to lure a child Friday morning using a puppy.

KDKA reports that a 10-year-old boy was fishing in Little Sewickley Creek when a man parked his car, walked over and put his hand on the boy's shoulder.

told KDKA the man then asked the boy if he would "come see a puppy in the backseat of his car," but the boy said he didn't want to and backed away.

At that point, according to WXPI, the man got into his car and sped off heading east on Little Sewickley Creek Road through and Franklin Park. The boy ran home and authorities were alerted. The incident happened about 11 a.m. Friday. 

The man is described as a white male in his mid to late 40s with a thin build, shoulder-length light brown to blond hair. He was driving a newer-model, brown four-door sedan with a rusted dent on the front passenger side. He was last seen wearing a brown sweatshirt and jeans.

The attempted luring is the latest to be reported in the Sewickley area.

Last month, involved in a child luring near Henle Park. Several police departments helped with the search but did not locate the suspect.
