Coroner Identifies Sewickley Man As Drowning Victim

Gregory Smith was last seen on May 26.

The body recovered earlier this week from the Ohio River in Beaver County was identified Friday as a Sewickley man, according to the Beaver County Coroner's office.

Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi said 62-year-old Gregory Smith died of drowning. She did not say when he died.

Smith of Ferry Street was known to be alive May 26, four days before his body was found, she said.

A boater saw Smith in the Ohio River in Baden about 5 p.m. and emergency rescue workers recovered his body.
