The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings May 10 at District Judge Robert Ford's office in Leetsdale:

Waived

  •  Michael Millero, 51, of New Brighton, charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and speeding. stopped Millero’s car March 12 in the 100 block of Route 65 after they said they measured his speed at 80 mph and saw him swerving in and out of traffic without using turn signals. He was taken to for a blood-alcohol test. Police did not report the results.
  •  William G. Meyer, 20, of Beaver Street, Sewickley, charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving. Leetsdale Police said they were dispatched at 5:43 a.m. on Feb 19 to the 100 block of Broad Street for a report of a man passed out in a Toyota. Police said they found Meyer slouched over in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running. When officers asked what he was doing, he began mumbling, police said. He was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital for a blood-alcohol test. Police did not report the results.
  • Matthew King, 28, of Washington, PA, charged with driving under the influence. State police said they found King March 11 pulled over on the berm on Interstate 79 in Aleppo Township with his brake lights on and his door open. Police said King, the driver, was leaning out of the door and vomiting. The trooper stopped and asked if the driver was OK, and King began sobbing and complained he was out to celebrate a new job, police said. Police reported King’s blood-alcohol content was 0.164 percent, above the 0.08 percent legal limit.

Withdrawn

  • Allen L. Dean, 28, of Farren Street, Sewickley, charges of simple assault and terroristic threats. Sewickley Police said Dean argued with a woman, struck her several times and threatened to shoot her with his cross bow on Oct. 22. Dean successfully completed classes, and the charges were withdrawn.

Reduced

  • Sean Price, 19, of Washington Street, Leetsdale, charged with simple assault. Leet Township Police said Price on May 2 struck a Leet resident in the face, knocked him to the ground and continued assaulting him because he felt the resident damaged several garage windows and wanted the resident to pay for them. The resident denies doing the damage, police said.  Price was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus court costs.

 

Postponed

  • R.B. Sanders, 43, of Moon Township, charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of automobiles, harassment, and driving under suspension. Sewickley Police said Sanders took car keys from his friend April 24, refused to give the keys back and took the friend’s car without permission. Police filed the car as stolen on April 25. While investigating Sanders, police said officers learned he had a suspended license and an extensive criminal history.
