From the office of Magisterial District Judge Robert Ford.

The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings Aug. 16 at District Judge Robert Ford's office in Leetsdale:

Waived to court

  •  Justin Witter, 30, of Ambridge, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and driving with suspended registration. said Witter’s vehicle stopped at 2:22 a.m. June 24 while traveling south on Route 65 in Osborne just past the Osborne Plaza. Police said the vehicle swerved and struck a curb. Police reported Witter’s blood-alcohol content was 0.161 percent, above the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
  • Jeffrey Wine, 46, of Economy, charged with two counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property. said Wine between August 2006 and August 2008 cut off the water meter at a home in the 200 block of Beaver Street and reversed it so that the meter would not register. He then placed a vehicle over the curb shut-off valve, police said. This enabled him to obtain water and sewage-treatment services valued at $3,862 from Edgeworth Water Authority and Leetsdale Municipal Authority, according to police. Investigators said they estimated the value of the loss based on the use of 27,000 gallons of water over two years. Police began an investigation on Feb. 28.
