District Court: Driving Under the Influence and Drug Possession Charges

The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings June 12 at  office in :

Waived

, 22, of Ambridge, charged with aggravated assault, driving under the influence, and resisting arrest. reported Glasser's vehicle was stopped March 17 after an officer saw his car run a stop sign at the intersection of Cross and Beaver streets. Police said Glasser kicked a policeman in the chest at the hospital. He also refused to take a blood-alcohol test, police said.

Marcus Norman, 22, of Aliquippa, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance. Sewickley police reported officers were called April 21 to the Sewickley Bridge for a report of a driver passed out behind the wheel of his car. An officer reached into the window and put the vehicle into park. During a search, police found three ecstasy pills. Police reported a blood-alcohol content of 0.160 percent, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Mark Poepping, 54, of Darlington Lane, Sewickley, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. reported on April 4 an officer came across a single-vehicle crash on Backbone Road and found Poepping slumped over the wheel. He was extracted from the vehicle and transported to Allegheny General Hospital’s trauma unit. Police reported a blood-alcohol content of 0.150 percent, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.

, 53, of Rabbit Hill, Glen Osborne, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. reported Hamren was stopped May 1 after failing to use a turn signal and speeding across the Sewickley Bridge. Hamren’s blood-alcohol level was not reported.

Sean Brady, 33, of Ambridge, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Leetsdale police reported Brady was speeding April 22 on Route 65 at Spencer Street in the borough. Police reported a blood-alcohol content of 0.192 percent, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.

 

Reduced

, 42, of Grove City, charged with providing false identification to law enforcement, maximum gross weight of vehicles, reckless driving and driving under suspension. Sewickley police reported an officer noticed McConnell was driving May 3 with a trailer attached to his pickup that had an expired registration sticker. Police said the tires were also compressed and the trailer hitch was dragging on the ground. Charges were reduced to non-traffic and McConnell was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus court costs.
