  • Sorin Stoica, 36, of Parma, OH, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. State police troopers were called Oct. 8 to the Route 279 and Interstate 79 interchange for a one-car crash in Franklin Park. Police said Stoica was unsure why he lost control of his car and struck a guide rail. Police reported a blood-alcohol content of 0.145 percent, nearly twice the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.
  • Thomas Wory, 49, of Ambridge, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident. reported that Wory’s vehicle nearly struck an officer who was standing outside Feb. 1 during a traffic stop along Route 65. Police reported Wory’s blood-alcohol content as 0.128 percent, more than the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.
  • John Campbell, 34, of Moon Township, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. reported Campbell nearly struck a police car Feb. 27 when his car swerved into the oncoming traffic lane on Route 65. Police said he was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital for a blood test, but the results were not reported.
  • Joshua Forney, 29, of McKees Rocks, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving. State police reported Forney was seen Nov. 27 in the area of Route 279 and Interstate 79 in Franklin Park abruptly changing lanes and following too closely behind another vehicle. Police reported a blood alcohol content of 0.201 percent, more than twice the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.

  • Derek Abdelhak, 23, of Sewickley, charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. Sewickley police stopped Abdelhak’s vehicle Feb. 25 on Walnut Street at Route 65 and noticed the vehicle didn’t have a registration sticker. Police said officers found marijuana, two prescription pain pills and rolling papers. Charges were reduced to disorderly conduct. He was ordered to pay $300 plus court costs.

  • David Peel, 19, of Pittsburgh, charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, hindering apprehension and fleeing or attempting to elude police. Franklin Park police stopped Peel’s car after he nearly struck a police car Jan. 1 in Acorn Park, police said. Charges reduced to disorderly conduct. He was ordered to pay $100 fine plus court costs.
