The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings Feb. 21 at office in Leetsdale:

Held for court

  • Andre Salameh, 43, of Seven Fields, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, following too closely and careless driving. State police reported Salameh’s vehicle was clocked Nov. 6 speeding on Interstate 79 in Franklin Park. Police said Salameh’s car also swerved in his lane and crossed the white line four times. Police reported his blood-alcohol content at 0.185 percent, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.
  • Douglas Millar, 54, of Sewickley, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. reported officers on patrol found Millar ‘s vehicle crashed into a traffic signal pole Jan. 10 on Route 65 at Walnut Street. Police said Millar was slumped over the wheel and his car was running.  He was transported by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital, where he submitted to a blood test. Police reported his blood-alcohol content at 0.244 percent, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.

  • Michael Smiley, 21, of Punxsutawney, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. State police reported Smiley was driving on Interstate 79 in Franklin Park and was clocked going 30 miles above the speed limit. Police reported his blood-alcohol content at 0.145 percent, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.
  • Vincent Daversa, 43, of Pittsburgh, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving. State police reported Daversa’s vehicle was seen changing a flat tire Dec. 23 on Route 279 a half-mile south of Franklin Park. Police stopped to assist and learned Daversa had hit a curb and didn’t realize his tire was flat until he reached the highway. Police reported his blood-alcohol content at 0.113 percent, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Reduced

  • , 35, of Harrisburg, charged with open lewdness, public drunkenness and possession of a small amount of marijuana. Charges reduced to two counts of disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Ordered to pay a $300 fine plus court costs, and credited with time served.
