  • James Yeckel, 52, whose last known address is Pittsburgh, charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and obstructing highways, warrant issued for his arrest. Ohio Township Police reported Yeckel was standing in the middle of the Route 65 near the Glenfield Viaduct on Jan. 8 when an officer stopped to see if Yeckel was OK and asked to see his identification. Police said Yeckel became irate, started yelling and disobeyed police orders. He was ordered to pay fines and court costs.
  • John P. Meanor, 50, of Harmony, charged with possession of a controlled substance, speeding, driving without a license and driving with a suspended license. Sewickley Heights Police reported that at 3:25 p.m. on Feb. 2, they saw a silver Mercedes Benz sedan speeding northbound on Glen Mitchell Road. When police stopped Meanor on Redgate Road, they said they found his license had been suspended and he'd been issued numerous “failure to respond” notices from the local magistrate’s office. He was taken into custody for failing to make payments on numerous citations. Police said Meanor had a pill container in his vehicle -- one prescribed to Meanor and the other suboxone, a drug that treats opiate addiction.   He was ordered to pay fines and court costs.

  • Jeffrey Wine, 45, of Economy, charged with two counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property. Leetsdale Police said Wine between June 2006 and August 2008 cut off the water meter at a home in the 200 block of Beaver Street and reversed it so that the meter would not register. He then placed a vehicle over the curb shut-off valve, police said. This enabled him to obtain water and sewage-treatment service valued at $3,862 from Edgeworth Water Authority and Leetsdale Municipal Authority, according to police, who estimated the value based on the use of 27,000 gallons of water over two years. Police began an investigation on Feb. 28.
  • Lewis Luckan, 33, of Bell Acres, charged with three counts of possession of heroin and nine counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bell Acres police were dispatched to Luckan's home at 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 3 for a report of a drug overdose. Medics revived Luckan, who was found to have pieces of heroin and empty stamp bags, police said. He was transported to Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital for an evaluation, police said.

Waived to Court

  • Hannah J. McNutt, 22, of Baden, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to use a turn signal, and careless driving. Sewickley police reported seeing McNutt's vehicle stopped at 2 a.m. Jan. 24 halfway in the left lane on Route 65 at Broad Street. The vehicle then sped off and at one point veered into the left lane without using a turn signal, almost striking the police car, police said. Officers stopped her car on Quaker Village Drive. Police did not report McNutt's blood-alcohol content.
