District Court: False Reports, Disorderly Conduct and DUIs

The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings Dec. 20 at in Leetsdale:

Waived

  • John E. Cary, 48, of Baltimore, MD, charged with tampering with public records, altering documents, making false reports to law enforcement, providing false identification and summary driving offenses. stopped a vehicle driven by Cary at 9:12 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 300 block of Broad Street, after the vehicle made an illegal turn. Police said Cary provided a false name and birth date, an expired temporary registration card and expired insurance card. Police said Cary also provided a photocopy of a Social Security card with the same false name. Police learned the person Cary was pretending to be was incarcerated. Cary was taken to Beaver County Jail, where police were able to determine his true identity. Police said he had an active felony warrant out of Maryland and was to be extradited.
  • Tanesia Miles, 34, of Ambridge, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving. Sewickley police stopped Miles’s vehicle Oct. 16 in the 300 block of Route 65 in Sewickley after her vehicle was seen drifting in the other lane. Police reported Miles’s blood-alcohol content was 0.188 percent, over the state’s legal 0.08 percent limit.
  • Sabrina L. Guido, 33, of Ambridge, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Sewickley police stopped Guido Oct. 11 on Route 65 near the high school after her vehicle was seen swerving between lanes. Police reported Guido’s blood-alcohol content was 0.119 percent, over the state’s legal 0.08 percent limit.
  • Joel R. Berry, 34, of Mt. Lebanon, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. stopped Berry on Oct. 22 at in Edgeworth after another motorist reported seeing Berry drive away from GetGo in Leetsdale while under the influence on Route 65. Police said Berry refused a blood-alcohol test. He was taken to the Coraopolis police department lock-up to sober up.

Postponed

  • Paul Stricko, 53, of Carnegie, charged with disorderly conduct, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. Leetsdale police said Stricko yelled, spit at and threw a woman to the ground at 1:11 p.m. Oct. 29 at the on Village Drive. Valley Ambulance treated the woman, police said.
