District Court: Simple Assault, Harassment and Threats

The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings on Feb. 28 in office.

Postponed

  • Patrick Yates, 18, of Ross Township, charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. Franklin Park police reported officers were patrolling Rochester Road when they saw a vehicle turn at Camp Meeting Road without using a signal. Yates was a passenger in the vehicle, where police found marijuana and a glass pipe.
  • Christopher Hamren, 53, of Glen Osborne, with simple assault and harassment. said Hamren chased someone Feb. 14 around with a staff, swinging at the person. Police said the victim’s arm had scratches. Hamren requested to go to Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital, where he was examined and cleared for incarceration, police said.
  •  Lori Chaplin, 48, of Glen Osborne, charged with simple assault and harassment. Sewickley police said on Feb. 14 Chaplin struck someone, who had a visible shoulder bruise.
  • RB Sanders, 44, of Sewickley, with simple assault and making terroristic threats. Sewickley police reported that Sanders on Feb. 18 pushed his fist into someone’s face and threatened to kill the person.

  • , 27, of Aleppo Township, charged by  with two counts of theft and one count each of receiving stolen property, access device fraud and providing false identification to law enforcement. Also charged by  with theft, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at nighttime. Police said Moore stole a car and numerous items out of parked vehicles in Aleppo and Sewickley Heights.
